Summer is in full swing, and with it, the electronic music festivals that get crowds buzzing. But in the Netherlands, one event stands out for its nostalgia and love for the past: VWAB, an acronym for “Vroeger Was Alles Beter” (“Everything used to be better”). This festival, dedicated to classic Hardstyle, has established itself as a benchmark for fans of sounds from another era, and it continues to grow.
With over ten editions under its belt, VWAB has built a loyal community, and the latest Outdoor edition in July 2025 was no exception. The festival once again celebrated the golden age of Hardstyle under a radiant sun. One of the stars of this edition was, without a doubt, the Mainstage. With its vibrant colors and design inspired by a big city, it offered a memorable visual spectacle that transported festival-goers into another dimension.
“Classics Reloaded”: VWAB thinks big for the fall
But the festival season is not over yet for VWAB. The organization has already announced the date for its Indoor edition to be held in October 2025. Titled “Classics Reloaded,” this party promises to live up to the expectations of the most demanding fans.
The event’s poster has already caused a stir. Inspired by the aesthetics of the cult film The Matrix, it plunges us into a dark and futuristic universe where binary code and Hardstyle are one. This bold artistic direction suggests a breathtaking stage design that could well transform the festival space into a truly immersive visual experience.
And what would a festival be without a quality lineup? VWAB has pulled out all the stops for this Indoor 2025 edition, unveiling a dream lineup. We find the heavyweights of the genre who have marked the history of Hardstyle. Frontliner, one of the most iconic figures of the scene, will be there, as will Noisecontrollers, known for his anthems that have made millions dance. The presence of TNT and BladeMasterz will complete this already explosive lineup, guaranteeing a night of pure classic Hardstyle that is likely to make the walls shake.
With a successful Outdoor edition and a promising Indoor edition, VWAB confirms its leading position on the classic Hardstyle scene. The festival continues to prove that nostalgia is not a hindrance, but a driving force that brings enthusiasts together around music that doesn’t age.
